What is the difference between aluminum extrusion and engineered aluminum extrusions?

Most aluminum extrusions are designed for one purpose, like door frames. The walls are thin, and the aluminum has an acceptable but lower quality.

Engineered aluminum is designed to be modular so that a variety of profiles can connect using a proprietary locking system. The walls are considerably thicker, and the shape is designed to support considerable weight. Our aluminum extrusions carry a 6063 specification, which has structural integrity and is scratch resistant. The surfaces are satin anodized.
